Getting Ready for the 2010-11 School YearHosford Middle School 6th Grade Transition Information
It's hard to believe its that time of year already, but its time to start looking at the procedures for transitioning your current 5th graders to middle school. Here are some dates, guidelines, and a little information about Hosford to make this process move as smoothly as possible. Hosford Middle School: Hosford is a comprehensive neighborhood school with immersion programs in Mandarin and Spanish. In addition to strong core classes, we offer an impressive array of exploratory classes including tech ed, strings, band, computers, drama, and ceramics. Our diverse population represents many ethnic and language groups and all of our students study Mandarin or Spanish through immersion, or exploratory classes. Chinese and Spanish Immersion Information: Current immersion students at Woodstock or Atkinson are guaranteed placement at Hosford. It is considered a program continuation, not a transfer. Please do not fill out a transfer request, regardless of where you live, if your student is in immersion and planning to continue at Hosford. Dates and Events:
Please feel free to email me about any Hosford information. This is an exciting time for 5th grade families and we look forward to meeting you! Sincerely, Verenice Gutierrez, PhD Assistant Principal, Hosford MS |
