Out of the Frying Pan

Welcome to the first edition of my column! It is my intention to communicate with families via this column twice a month. I hope the column together with the monthly newsletter will help improve communication. By design, "Out of the Frying Pan" will usually be brief. I might even try and be funny, so brace yourselves.

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow!

Your students should have brought home a bright yellow envelope containing magazine fund-raiser information. This fund-raiser is sponsored by the PTSA and is the biggest one of the year. Please support this fundraising effort by encouraging and providing your students with the opportunity to do their part. Each year the money raised goes directly to teachers, eventually trickling down to students. A lot of what we do at Hosford would not be possible without the extra money fundraising provides. We have worked hard as a staff to push this sale with students and I am now passing the torch to you. My personal contribution is to have my afro shaved into a mohawk if the students raise 10,000 dollars. Last year we raised 6,000 dollars so the challenge is on! In addition to the mohawk, I will have the letters H-o-s-f-o-r-d carved into the side of my head and will "sport" the hairdo for ten days. Let's have some fun and set a new magazine sale record!
